Hello, my name is Jakub Sohe and when it comes to making sense of the world and myself I come somewhere between confused and curious.

 

I'm hungry to know and accepting (read frustrated) of knowing so little.

 

Which is where art and creativity comes in place:

 

To me, art is a way of exploring and attempting at understanding the world around, a form of intrapersonal language through which I'm able to ask questions and formulate answers, language that I refine through continuous exposure which allows me to tackle deeper and wider conversations that interest me (while making less and less sense).

 

What interests me?

Golly.. I guess the stuff of personal consequence- being present, meaning of life and meaning making itself, experience of being a human, value and place of wisdom, beauty, joy, suffering.. the paradoxical and interconnected nature of EVERYTHING AROUND US- science, religion, art- let's call it everything that interests me is what interests me.

 

In short I want to leave this life knowing I lived it, that I cared for it and tried to get to know it better - and art is the way of inquiry I am passionate about; consequently then my paintings, writings and whatever else is but a side effect of my curiosity and love for this strangeness called "being alive".

 

Anyways, here I am and I feel grateful to be able to share this with you so thank you for being here.
