The work of wonder never ends so don't take a painting at it's face value- the amount of forms it has seen and lost, in search of reality, through trials and errors- repainted, repainted, repainted. Rather, I'd suggest to look closer and search for the fragments of layers long gone, though, perhaps not entirely forgotten.
In other words, I think it is worthy albeit hard to metamorph- when time is right- and all that's left of the past is our memory forever imbedded in the new, apparent, face value of a painting that's never been the same.
Doesn't that sound familiar to you?
